Meet Fire Marrow, my latest suggestion. An idea of having different themed skeletal archers be called Marrows and reinventing heroes like clinkz into Fire Marrow. With this idea, Valve can add to the lore already established by their game and they can provide to their universe ideas reminiscent of Void Spirit or Storm Spirit. This is not changing their core formula it is just adding already well-known ingredients into the pot.
Marrow is the inside mixture of a bone. All bones have marrow. This is about redefining a character class. Developing a new character collection theme. This will have the ability to develop ideas like frost marrow, shadow marrow, venom marrow, void marrow, storm marrow, etc.
Dota’s lore already contains undead concepts such as the sword wielding wraith king, the ghost possessed death prophet, the helmet wearing undying and the spell casting pugna. With this idea, Lore is expanded. Background information of the marrow could be warriors that trade blood and flesh for eternal vengeance, or Skeletal carved warriors who become stronger after death than they were in life.
Clinkz already lives between fire and death. He’s a spirit locked in bones, burning forever. Yet he has no faction, no deeper myth, no story arc beyond a backstory line or two. The concept of the “Fire Marrow” gives him the world he’s missing.
Clinkz isn’t a good name because it is a caricature of bones knocking against bones. It has no life anymore. Fire Marrow or Ember Marrow or Blazing Marrow or Dragon Marrow or Heated Marrow or some other fire name is rich with seriousness, professionalism and exploration. Clinkz only tells us that he is a bone hero. Fire Marrow tells us that he is a fire bone hero. If more bones archers are implemented than marrow will take on a new representation in the game.
